    1. Thanks so much!! I actually custom mixed each color in our house but here are a few similar swatches I found from Valspar:

      Living room color:
      Valspar, Evening Stroll, ar1224
      Valspar, Starry Woods, 5005 5c
      Valspar, Glass Tile, Cl184

      Dining room color:
      Valspar, Shaken not stirred, ar1417
      Valspar, Notre Dame, 5006 1B
      Valspar, Granite Dust, 5006 1C

      Entryway color:
      Valspar, Tree Trunk, 3009-10
      Valspar, Borough, ar120

I can't find the dark brown in our kitchen, but hopefully these will get you started!!

    1. We didn't paint the brick ourselves, but yes it is painted. Our home was built in 1971 and I think it was painted somewhere between then and now.

    1. Thanks so much!! I actually did a little bit of both. The matted photos were from a photography class I took in college, and the hangers were from Wal-Mart! I believe they still carry them as well. They are in the storage section I think. Hope this helps!

  18. Wow!! I bought this house in 2000 from the original owner (with green shag carpet and flocked wallpaper!)-and my mom and dad purchased it from me not long thereafter. (You bought it from my dad.) I am so excited to see what a beautiful job you have done with the house! My parents did a lot of remodeling, as well as added the pool. My mom's decorating style was similar to yours-sadly she passed away in 2009. My dad did a modern redo later...I just love what you have done to this well-loved and happy house!!

    1. OH my gosh - you have no idea how much you have made my day! My husband and I have been living here a year now, and I think we grow to love the house more and more every day. We always talk about how thankful we were that your dad did such a great job with the remodel. I still remember the night I found this house listed online - I fell in love even before seeing it in person. The first time we looked at it in person, we knew it had to be ours:) I always hoped whoever lived here before us would be happy with the changes we made to the house, and it makes so glad to hear that confirmation from you:) You or your dad are more than welcome to stop by sometime to see it again in person and I would love to see some of those old pictures of the house if you have any! We've always wondered how it looked in years past.

Hope all is well and thank you so much for reaching out to me:) Feel free to email me with any pictures you might have or if you would ever want to stop by!

  25. Hi there - found you at It's Overflowing today - just LOVE your style - it's just like mine except you have much more neat stuff! I love your wicker/cane bits and pieces. Your outdoor patio looks amazing - you show great use of the red/green/black/blue and touches of grey I think I noticed. That's what I do in my little place but I can never source as nice cane stuff as you have! Looking forward to following your journey!!! Have a beautiful day! :-)
